welcome
Welcome to the 24th Australasian HIV/AIDS Conference, Australasia's premier medical/scientific conference in the HIV and related diseases sector.
Over three days, 1000 of the region’s leaders in the field of HIV will convene in Melbourne, the World’s Most Liveable City, to discuss the latest developments in research into the cause, clinical manifestations, prevention, testing and treatment of HIV/AIDS and related diseases.
Highlights for this year include:
• A continuation of the lunch time master classes on Basic Science and other areas for workforce development
• A focus on posters with two dedicated evening events and longer lunch times for more time to view
• Lots more to be advised in 2012
Held from Wednesday 17 to Friday 19 October 2012, the Conference will be run back-to-back with the 13th International Union against Sexually Transmitted Infections (IUSTI) World Congress which incorporates the standard 2012 Australasian Sexual Health Conference with one full day of overlap on Wednesday 17 October. This presents an excellent opportunity for specialists and trainees in sexual health, HIV medicine, public health, microbiology, epidemiology and behavioural science from the northern and southern hemispheres to share skills and experience. Participants will be able to discuss the latest advances and progress in the STI field from the varied viewpoints of clinical practice, STI biology, laboratory detection, public health epidemiology, sexual behaviour and research into STI-HIV interactions. The scientific programme will contain many internationally respected speakers and will ensure a state-of-art, evidence-based and cutting-edge experience.
The 2012 HIV/AIDS Conference offers excellent education and social opportunities as well as the chance to network with key industry experts and colleagues in the World’s Most Liveable City. Further information will be available in 2012.
